KOTA KINABALU: For decades, many families in Tawau have been living without proper electricity supply due to the lack of connectivity.
However, this will all change when 300 units of solar power systems are installed in their villages soon.Equipment such as solar panels and batteries from China will be donated through the Lions Club as a community service project, said Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew.
“The Tawau Parliamentary People’s Service Centre is identifying the villages in Apas and Balung that need solar power, pending the shipment of solar equipment from China, ” said Liew, who is also Deputy Sabah Chief Minister.
