PUTRAJAYA: Voluntary patrol schemes (SRS) will be allowed to operate in green zones starting June 20.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic) said this would involve 1,079 SRS nationwide and the National Unity Ministry would provide equipment, including face masks, vests and torchlights for the SRS members.

“Each SRS team cannot exceed five persons.

“The National Unity Ministry will discuss with the respective state governments, local authorities and police on streamlining the patrols, ” he told reporters yesterday.

“All SRS members are required to register on the MySejahtera app to enable self-health evaluation, ”Ismail Sabri said.

“If any member or SRS team fails to adhere to the standard operating procedure, the ministry will revoke the permission to patrol immediately, ” he added.
