PUTRAJAYA: All pending marriage registrations involving non-Muslims must be settled before July 31, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).
The Senior Minister (Security) said this will allow registration for marriages to proceed without the need to make new applications.
"The National Unity Ministry had a meeting with the National Security Council and the National Registration Department recently to discuss on the marriage registrations involving non-Muslims, which was disrupted and delayed during the movement control order (MCO) period.
"It was decided that all pending registrations must be settled before July 31," he told reporters during his daily briefing on Sunday (June 7).
The NRD will prepare standard operating procedures for marriage or divorce registrations involving non-Muslims, he added.
"The NRD will also allow marriage registration to be held at 171 houses of worship, which have been allowed to operate by the National Unity Ministry during the MCO," he said.
