DATUK Hans Isaac (pic) is disappointed that he was unable to hand a report on National Film Development Corporation Malaysia’s (Finas) achievements for the 13 months he was chairman to Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, reported Harian Metro. He said that he was supposed to hand in the report to Saifuddin before his tenure as chairman ended on May 23.
“Usually, there would be an official hand-over ceremony (between the outgoing and incoming chairmen), but there was none this time.
“I have been waiting for a word from the minister’s side on how to see him so I can hand over this report for the last four months. But I was unable to see him until the day my contract ended, ” he added.
Hans said that the report listed 26 achievements of Finas during the time he was chairman.
> The children of a couple killed in an accident involving a drunk driver have asked for the authorities to hand out a harsh punishment to the alleged perpetrator, reported Sinar Harian.
Nur Afni Nirwani Khairizul, 16, and her four younger siblings lost their father Khairizul Mohamad Noor, 38, in the early morning of Feb 9 after the motorcycle he and his wife Zuriana Hasan, 35, were travelling in was hit from behind by a car driven by a man believed to be drunk on the North-South Expressway.
Zuriana died in April after two months in hospital as the result of the injuries she sustained during the accident.
“We want the drunk driver that caused the death of our father and mother to be given a sentence that fits the crime.
“Give him the harshest punishment (you can) as his innocent victims have paid a heavy price, ” said Nur Afni.
