KEPALA BATAS: All political parties should refrain from too much politicking and instead give their undivided support to the Government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, says Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

"The effects caused by the pandemic are more challenging and the rakyat are now waiting for an announcement on the economic recovery plan by the government.

"It is therefore important that all ministers regardless of which party they belong to, support the Prime Minister and assist in the implementation of programmes he has introduced such as the assistance programmes that have been lined up for the rakyat so far," said the Umno supreme council member after visiting the Pasar Bisik fish market in Penaga on Wednesday (June 3).

Reezal, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, added that people were tired of the issues which were being politicised, especially by the Opposition and just want the Government to focus on measures to ease tension brought on by the pandemic.

Reezal said that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is currently enjoying good approval ratings from the people and that he and the other Cabinet ministers would render their best in support of his leadership.

"In Perikatan Nasional, there are nine ministers from Umno and we are working together to give the Prime Minister all the support he needs and help in the implementation of the programmes he has introduced for the rakyat's benefit," he said.
