SERDANG: A military personnel was killed after he was involved in a five-vehicle accident at Kesas Highway on Monday (June 1) morning.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan said the victim, who was riding a motorcycle, was on his way to the Sungai Besi camp when the incident occurred at about 8.20am at KM44.1 of Kesas Highway.
"He had initially ran into the back of a lorry, which was parked in the emergency lane.
"The impact threw him onto the middle of the nearby lane, when he was ran over by other vehicles," he said when contacted Monday.
The victim died at the scene, he added.
"Initial investigations revealed that the lorry driver had stopped at the emergency lane, as the vehicle's long shaft was damaged.
"The driver had stopped the vehicle for about five minutes before the accident occurred. An emergency cone was also placed 3m from the lorry," ACP Ismadi said.
The police are still investigating the matter, he added.
