“A total of 138 of these were issued at various roadblocks, with 4,832 cars instructed to go back, ” said Selangor police's Covid-19 special spokesman Asst Comm Muhammad Yazid Muhammad Yew at a press conference at the state police headquarters on Friday (May 29).

He added that currently, there were 11 interstate roadblocks across the state.

Statistics show that the police received 1,902 request forms for interstate travel on May 28.

“Of that, 1,674 were approved, ” ACP Muhammad said.

He said only those with permission from the police were allowed to travel between states.

“If there is a valid reason, such as medical reasons, a death or an emergency, we will, of course, consider (granting permission).

“Those without a valid reason and permission will be issued compounds. The instructions from the Inspector-General of Police is quite clear, ” he said.
