BALIK PULAU: Two Indonesian siblings, aged four and five, drowned in a fish pond at Bandar Baru Air Putih, not far from where they stayed.
Balik Pulau OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan said an officer at the Balik Pulau police station received a distress call from a man, believed to be children's’ father.
“The initial investigation revealed that the mother found her five-year-old daughter floating on the pond before her husband arrived and found their son, four, in the pond.
“Both children were dead when the hospital personnel arrived. The bodies were sent to the Penang Hospital for post-mortem.
“The case is classified as sudden death, ” he said in a statement on Wednesday (May 27).
