GEORGE TOWN: Teluk Bahang assemblyman Zolkifly Md Lazim says he will be meeting Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow after Hari Raya to discuss his position in the state.

"I will be meeting the Chief Minister after Hari Raya and would issue a statement regarding my status," said Zolkifly who is a Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and was recently appointed Mara Corp adviser by the Federal Government.

Both Zolkifly and Bersatu Bertam assemblyman Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq are expected to be sitting with the Opposition in the state assembly.

Khaliq was recently appointed the Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda) chairman.

Both the assemblymen pledged their support for the state government when Bersatu quit Pakatan Harapan in February.

Under the state's anti-hopping law spelt out in Article 14(A)(1) of the Constitution of the State of Penang (Amendment) Enactment 2012, both the representatives would have to give up their seats.
