AS the country enters the ninth week of the movement control order period, signs of the Covid-19 curve flattening out are coming closer in view.

With the conditional movement control order (CMCO) being extended for a further four weeks until June 12, the festivities of Eid al-Fitri, the Kaamatan Feast and Hari Gawai are affected as many who planned to balik kampung have to stay put and celebrate these festivities where they are.

But that doesn’t mean celebrants cannot get creative and cook up a storm, especially the dishes that remind them of what they used to enjoy during Ramadan leading up to Aidilfitri in previous years.

Popular radio station Suria FM is set to make waves in the “new normal” with its Ramadan-Raya programmes that have been airing live. Joining Suria FM as strategic partners are palm-based cooking oil brand Vesawit and the beverage Sabah Tea Teh Tarik.

Listeners are invited to embark on a #KongsiKegembiraan journey with Suria FM this Hari Raya, along with Vesawit and Sabah Tea Teh Tarik.

They will be regaled with all-time festive tunes and take part in games and promotions that will drum up joy and happiness, spreading love and positivity with the hand-in-hand theme #CeriaRayaSuria.

Vesawit teamed up with Suria FM as it is suitable for cooking almost all Malay dishes due to its heat stability and lighter taste, making it exceptional in general cooking and deep frying.

Made from palm olein, it is refined into a clear golden yellow oil that is cholesterol-free, high in natural vitamin E content and comes in 1-3kg and 5kg pack sizes.

Sabah Tea Tarik is part of the high quality Sabah Tea and gives teh tarik fans the convenience of enjoying this “kaw” (satisfying) local pick-me-up in the safe confines of their own homes.

Besides the Sabah Tea Tarik Classic, the beverage brand also comes in fresh ginger flavour that is made from actual fresh gingers, for those who prefer the zing of fresh ginger in their refreshingly bold yet creamier choice.

It also comes in a less sweet option for those who are health conscious to still enjoy this local favourite.

Both Vesawit and Sabah Tea Tarik are brands by Yee Lee Corporation Bhd.
