SEPANG: Police are looking for four foreign workers, including a woman, who fled from a kongsi (workers’ quarters’) after going through medical screening for the Covid-19 virus.According to Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof, a road works company based in Lukut, Port Dickson, had screened 26 workers staying at a kongsi here on May 13.
“On Monday, the company received a call from a doctor confirming that one of the Indonesian workers had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
“The worker who tested positive was sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment, but at the same time, the company discovered that four of their workers had fled from the kongsi, ” he said.
On Tuesday, Sungai Pelek Klinik Kesihatan ordered the company to bring the remaining workers for another screening at 10.30am, whereupon two Bangladeshi workers tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
“An ambulance took both workers to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment on the same day, ” said ACP Wan Kamarul Azran.
“We have identified the four missing workers as Juliana Sari, 22, Paisal, 26, Jasman, 27, and Afrizal, 24, ” he added.
The police could not find any record of Juliana’s passport, and the passport numbers of the other three are C4105128, C4313370 and B7736104 respectively.
ACP Wan Kamarul Azran urged anyone with information on the missing workers to come forward and assist the police.
