KOTA KINABALU: Pawnshops can begin operations from Monday (May 18), says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

In a statement Sunday (May 17), he said that pawnshop operators must observe the standard operating procedures (SOPs) including social distancing set by the Health Ministry and local authorities when carrying out their business.

Sabah delayed the opening of pawnshops after the Federal Government allowed it on May 4 with the implementation of the conditional movement control order (MCO).
