PUTRAJAYA: It is sufficient for business outlets to take down the name and contact number of their patrons, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said there is no need for them to ask for their patrons' address and MyKad number.
"We are aware that the public is uncomfortable leaving their addresses and MyKad number, fearing that it may be abused.
"So, let's follow Gerak Malaysia's procedure of just getting the name and contact number," he said Tuesday (May 12).
The government's decision to allow almost all economic and social activities to resume starting May 4, among others, permitted restaurants to allow dine-in customers under the conditional movement control order (MCO).
Among measures suggested by the authorities is for outlets to take down the contact number of their patrons.
This is so that in cases where a Covid-19 positive case is detected, authorities can carry out contact tracing.
