Content provider to air ministry’s TV programmes

PETALING JAYA: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd will air the Education Ministry’s educational television programmes (Program TV Pendidikan) on its education channel Tutor TV Astro from today.

The Educational TV programme slot is an addition to the education programmes currently aired on national broadcasting station RTM’s special channel TV Okey, said the Education Ministry, adding that it was an effort between the ministry and Astro.

“Broadcast will start on May 4 for two hours every Monday to Friday from 10am to 11am on channel 601 and 11am to noon on channel 603.

“The programmes will be repeated on the same day from 3pm to 4pm on channel 601 and 4pm to 5pm on channel 603, ” the ministry said in a statement yesterday.

It added that the programmes could also be viewed for free through the Astro GO application on Android or iOS devices.

“This initiative is to increase students’ access to learning materials through alternative platforms...during and after the movement control order, ” the ministry said.

“We are confident that this collaboration with Astro will benefit students, teachers and parents as it enables the teaching and learning process to be more widely available in the current challenging environment.”

The schedule is available at the ministry’s website, www.moe.gov.my or on their social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @KemPendidikan.
