PUTRAJAYA: Phase Four of the movement control order will see more rules being relaxed on top of allowing two persons to go out on errands and travel beyond 10km for essentials.

Hinting this, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the two should be from the same family and that the errands meant food, medicine and daily essentials.People are now allowed to travel out of their 10km radius limit for the same purpose.

Ismail Sabri said the special Cabinet committee, which he chairs, would also look into the operations of daycare centres and nurseries, performing religious obligations during Ramadan as well as sporting activities.

And this meant Malaysian League matches too.

“Phase Four will see several rules relaxed, ” he said.

On the easing of the rules on one-person policy and travelling beyond 10km radius limit, Ismail Sabri said this had been gazetted and would take effect immediately.

The updated Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Declaration of Infected Local Areas) Order 2020, which was signed by the Health Minister, stated that the MCO would be further extended from April 29 until May 12.“We have relaxed the rules a bit so now, a family member who lives in the same house can bring along another member to buy food, essential items and medicine.

“We are also allowing people to travel beyond the 10km radius for these purposes, ” he said adding that they were encouraged not to go too far away from their homes for these.

“For instance, if a person needs to go to a clinic and it is 15km away from his house, that would be allowed, ” he said, adding that the person should not be seeking medical attention 20km away.

On the operations of daycare centres and nurseries, Ismail Sabri said the government was aware of the need for such facilities to be reopened especially since economic sectors had been allowed to carry on business at full capacity.

“We are aware that the question raised by many is that now that they can go to work, who will look after their children, ” he said.

Economic sectors allowed to run at half capacity during phases one to three could carry out businesess at full capacity immediately.

Ismail Sabri said he received a letter from the Youth and Sports Minister on issues related to sports, including the Malaysian League matches.

“We are aware that people have a lot of questions on these issues, ” Ismail Sabri said. “The meeting tomorrow (today) will look into the details.”
