IPOH: The people have been urged to stop politicising the mistake made by Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali and Razman Zakaria and to continue taking the movement control order (MCO) seriously.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said both the Deputy Health Minister and state executive council member have been punished by the Gerik Magistrate's Court.

"I hope the matter will not be politicised as action has been taken," he said after presenting aid to a former state football player who is recovering from a stroke in Gopeng on Tuesday (April 28).

"I also hope both will continue their responsibilities to serve the country and state according to the law," he said.

Earlier, Dr Noor Azmi, Razman and 13 others were jointly charged and pleaded guilty to disobeying the MCO.

All have been ordered to each pay a RM1,000 fine in default one-month jail term.

Faizal said the court ruling showed that the judiciary was transparent and not biased.

"I hope this will be a lesson to all to continue taking the MCO seriously.

"It is for our own good and to break the Covid-19 chain," he said.
