Four foreign women arrested in PJ vice raid

PETALING JAYA: Four foreign women were detained on suspicion of involvement in prostitution here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said police raided two hotels on Monday (April 27) in an operation codenamed Ops Noda.

"We detained three foreign women at a hotel in Kota Damansara and another foreign woman at a hotel in Mentari Business Centre.

"We also seized 16 condoms, two bottles of lubricants and two hotel cards from the suspects," he told a press conference on Tuesday (April 28).

The women, aged between 24 and 39, have been remanded pending further investigations, he added.

In a separate operation, two men and a woman were arrested in connection with illegal gambling on Monday, ACP Nik Ezanee said.

"We detained a 24-year-old man at 12pm at a motorcycle workshop in Desa Mentari and seized two sheets of papers believed to be unlicensed lottery tickets and a mobile phone.

"The first suspect's accomplices, a man and a woman, were arrested some four hours later in Pekan Lama, Petaling Jaya.

"We seized 16 tablets, two modems, a calculator and two mobile phones from the suspects," he added.
