KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has dismissed allegations from a non-governmental organisation (NGO) claiming it has failed to issue guidelines to its prosecutors for movement control order (MCO) cases, resulting in heavy-handed punishments to violators.
Attorney General Tan Sri Idrus Harun (pic) said in a statement Monday (April 27) that guidelines and directives to the deputy public prosecutors (DPPs) were issued on a regular basis and the DPPs’ actions and decisions were based on powers and responsibilities conferred by the Federal Constitution and the law.
