KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Syariah Lawyers Association has urged the government to allow syariah courts to operate during the movement control order (MCO) as there are matters that need attention such as marital problems.
Association president Musa Awang said the complaints included divorce pronunciation (talak) during the MCO period but the talak could not be verified by the syariah court as it was not operational.
