PUTRAJAYA: Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) has launched an online platform for public and private companies, non-governmental organisations and corporate bodies to donate food and money for the needy in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.
YWP, in a statement Thursday (April 23), said the proceeds from the programme called "i-HYA Ramadhan" were meant to help those who were affected by the movement control order (MCO), especially those in the red zones.
"The online platform is meant to make it easy for everyone to donate to the needy during Ramadan. Food that is donated will also be sent to the recipients," said Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who is also YWP chairman.
To donate, visit www.yayasanwp.org.my and click on the "i-HYA RAMADHAN YWP" poster or scan the QR code.
Visitors would then be directed to a login menu where they would have to register for a new profile.
Once done, visitors could choose the type of donation from a drop-down menu, before choosing the method of payment - via credit or debit card.
For donations worth more than RM200, a tax exemption receipt would be issued.
