PUTRAJAYA: Immigration director-general Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud wants to boost the spirit and morale of his men who are on duty during the movement control order.
Since he could not personally meet those who are manning the country's entry points, Khairul made a video to thank them for their sacrifices.
"We are going through challenging times following the government's decision to enforce the MCO to stop the spread of Covid-19.
"This decision demands great contribution and dedication from Immigration officers.
"I would like to record my deepest appreciation to our officers for their unwavering commitment to their duty and to the country," he said in a video that has been posted on the Immigration Department's Facebook.
Khairul went on to say how important the role they play to ensure the success of the MCO.
For officers in other Immigration sectors, such as the headquarters and state offices, he said a greater challenge lies ahead for them post MCO.
"Therefore, we need to be prepared to ensure any new regulations and policies that will be decided by the government will be successfully implemented," he said.
The government has enforced the first phase of the MCO from March 18 to 31 and the second phase, which started on April 1, will end on April 14.
