KUALA LUMPUR: The move to issue compounds to people who violate the movement control order (MCO) instead of jailing them has been lauded by lawyers as it would reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Senior criminal lawyer Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu said the move would lessen the workload of the police and the courts.
