‘We have allocated RM10mil for our sales partners to borrow if they need to,’ said redONE chief sales officer Ben Teh.

KUALA LUMPUR: Postpaid mobile virtual network operator redONE announced several measures for its sales partners whose business has been disrupted by the movement control order.

The measures for redONE’s more than 800 sales partners include:

> All of redONE’s 201 exclusive premier shops and gold partners will receive full rental subsidy for their shops or kiosks for the duration of the MCO.

> Non-exclusive redONE dealers who meet certain criteria will receive cash subsidy of RM1,000 to be paid out in two instalments in April and May.

> Individual agents with no fixed premises who meet certain criteria will receive a one-time cash subsidy of RM300 in April.

> All payments due to redONE from its agents – such as fees, phone purchases, etc – will be deferred for two months until June 2020.

> redONE’s top 500+ partners from 2019 have all been given free personal accident and Covid-19 insurance starting April 1.

“We will be utilising nearly RM3mil in rental subsidies and deferred payments, and have allocated RM10mil for our sales partners to borrow if they need to, ” said redONE chief sales officer Ben Teh.

He said that in addition to the benefits stated above, all qualified partners will also be able to apply for an advance on future commissions.

“Depending on their current redONE income, they can borrow a minimum of RM6,000 and up to RM60,000. Repayments will start only in August and can be made over 24 months.

“Our sales partners receive recurring monthly commissions based on bill payments. So even though they haven’t been able to go out to do new sales, they are still receiving passive income while sitting safely at home.

“Still, many will struggle with rents and salaries during this period and we felt it is our duty to support our loyal partners and friends, ” Teh added.

Established in 2012, redONE is the first mobile virtual network operator in Malaysia to provide affordable postpaid services, with plans that start from as low as RM8 per month.
