KUALA KANGSAR: A village worker was found drowned near the Chenderoh Dam here.

Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Razali Ibrahim said the victim, Jama Razali, 58, was found floating at the Chenderoh Lake by search and rescue personnel on Thursday (April 2), around 2.50pm.

ACP Razali said the victim, from Kampung Changkat Payong, Kati, near here, is believed to have fallen off his boat on Wednesday (April 1).

“He was found some 300m from his boat.

“He was believed to have gone to the lake to fish in the morning on Wednesday, but failed to return home in the evening, ” he said in a statement.

ACP Razali said a friend of Jama’s had found his half-sunken boat, but could not find the victim.

“He suspected the victim could have drowned and alerted the wife before lodging a police report, ” he said, adding that Jama was a fisherman and a rubber tapper.
