COWAY Malaysia donated 300 of its air purifiers to over 38 public hospitals across Malaysia designated to treat Covid-19 patients.
In addition, the company has committed to make a monetary contribution of RM300,000 to the Health Ministry.
The CSR initiative is in line with the company’s commitment to promote the importance of Life-Changing Air and by extension to help Malaysians, particularly the most vulnerable Covid-19 patients in hospitals and the front line healthcare personnel attending to them.

Expressing his gratitude, Health Ministry secretary general Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min said: “The Government, Health Ministry and by extension the hospitals and patients are grateful for the generosity of Coway Malaysia as a caring corporate and global citizen.
“We appreciate your solidarity with us to combat this dangerous virus that has affected many countries around the world, but has not broken our spirit and humanity.
“The Health Ministry will ensure that the air purifiers and the contributions will be used prudently in the public hospitals and respiratory health facilities across the nation, which are most in need of assistance,” Dr Chen added.
Among the hospitals and centres slated to receive the Coway air purifiers are Sungai Buloh Hospital (Selangor), Kuala Lumpur Hospital’s Institute of Respiratory Medicine, Penang Hospital, Sultanah Hospital (Johor Baru), Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (Kuantan), Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (Ipoh), Malacca Hospital, Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (Seremban), Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Kota Kinabalu) and Sarawak General Hospital (Kuching).

Choi expressed hope that the sponsored air purifiers will help enhance the existing efforts of the Health Ministry to ensure cleaner air in dedicated respirator and infectious disease centres in all hospitals treating Covid-19 patients.
He also thanked CJ Logistics, which assisted in delivering the air purifiers to the public hospitals in various parts of the country during the movement control order period.
“Coway is keenly aware of how important clean air is to facilitate improved respiratory health of patients, especially for vulnerable patients who have underlying health issues including respiratory health problems such as asthma, as well as among the elderly community. This is why the contribution of air purifiers is crucial,” he said.
Clean air, Choi added, is just as vital for all serving in the healthcare system within these hospitals.
