JOHOR BARU: Parti Amanah Negara chairman Aminolhuda Hassan has been appointed state Opposition chief, while Pakatan Harapan says it is willing to work together with the current state government to face the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

The state speaker and state secretary have been informed of the Parit Yani assemblyman's appointment as Johor opposition chief.

In a statement on March 31, Pakatan said it is willing to work together with the state government to handle the Covid-19 outbreak, but said it should be done through proper means.

"We oppose any independent appointment of Pakatan members to government positions under the Perikatan Nasional government.

"If Perikatan wishes to work together, it should be done through talks," it added.

Pakatan also said that the services of council members, village heads and community chiefs under it would end on March 31.

"We understand the difficulties due to the movement control order (MCO), especially for those who are less fortunate, ” said Pakatan.

Pakatan added it is willing to provide aid and assistance to anyone regardless of race, religion or political background.
