PUTRAJAYA: The armed forces will use their assets to help deliver food and necessities to the people in the interiors of Sabah and Sarawak, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri (pic).

He said the government is aware that food delivery in the two states, especially to the interiors, are difficult.

“The meeting has agreed that the armed forces will be roped in for this. They will use their assets to send food and other essential needs to the people in the interior of Sabah and Sarawak.

“The government will ensure the people have sufficient food supply for their daily needs, ” he said on Tuesday (March 31).

He also said that highway operators have agreed to allow stall and shop operators at their R&Rs (rest and recreation centres) to be exempted from rent for six months.

This, he said, is good news to traders who hardly see any business due to the movement control order to stop the Covid-19 pandemic.
