KUALA LUMPUR: The police have imposed a limit on the number of visitors to the Chow Kit Wholesale Market until April 14.

Visitors are limited from 30 to 40 people at any one time and are only given 20 minutes to shop.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah said each person must register and undergo a temperature check before being allowed entry.

“We also provide a special lane for senior citizens who wish to shop at the market,” he told reporters at the market yesterday.

The market will open from 6am until 1pm and no one is allowed in the area beyond these hours, he added.

“If anyone flouts the regulation, we will take stern action. We expect more people to go the market to buy their daily necessities,” ACP Mohd Fahmi said.
