KUALA LUMPUR: Three men have been arrested after police found a samurai sword, handcuffs and a tazer on them.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon said the three were spotted behaving suspiciously by police on patrol in Taman Maluri at around midnight Tuesday (March 24).
"We checked the three suspects and found a tazer, handcuffs, a samurai sword, two walkie talkies and six mobile phones.
"The suspects were aged between 25 and 26 and have been remanded to help with further investigations," he said when contacted Thursday (March 26).
ACP Mohamed Mokhsein said the following day personnel on patrols at Taman Shamelin stopped a motorist at around 9pm.
"We checked his vehicle and found an air pistol, six air pistol bullets, a machete and a flash light shaped like a baseball bat.
"We arrested the 46-year-old wireman and further checks revealed he had a prior record for a robbery case," he said, adding that police have remanded the man to help with investigations.
ACP Mohamed Mokhsein said police would continue their normal crime prevention operations while also conducting Covid-19 Operations to maintain public order and security here.
