Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said he and the 10 excos had decided to take the slash in salary for three months from April to June.
“It will be donated fully to Tabung Covid-19 Pahang, which has been set up by the state government.
“This decision is made with a feeling of responsibility and sympathy towards the people from all racial, age and occupational backgrounds who have been affected by the pandemic,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Wan Rosdy hoped that the donation would encourage more to come forward and also contribute to the fund.
After an amendment in 2015, the Pahang Mentri Besar’s monthly salary had been set at RM30,000 while the state excos had their salaries amended to RM14,000 each.
On Tuesday, state secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak said about 10,000 civil servants consisting of appointees of the Pahang government, local authorities and state statutory bodies were ready to donate part of their salaries to the fund.
