IPOH: Police arrested a group of four allegedly drunk Indian nationals for failing to adhere to the movement control order (MCO) in Pusing.
Batu Gajah OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said they were arrested on Wednesday (March 25) at about 11pm.
“The four were drunk, behaving suspiciously and were out during the MCO period.
“They failed to give a valid reason as to why they were out at that time, ” he added.
ACP Adnan said police also arrested another local man at Kampung Bakap Baru in Batu Gajah for defying the MCO.
He said police were carrying out their rounds when they spotted several people gathering at a hut in the village.
“We told them to stay put but they started to flee. We gave chase and managed to arrest one man who could not give us a valid reason of him being out of the house, ” he added.
He said investigation papers for the five suspects of them have been submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office.
“They will be charged Friday (March 27) under Section 7(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020, ” he added.
