MELAKA: The Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB) has confirmed that an employee with its engineering unit has tested positive for Covid-19

Speaking to the press on Wednesday (March 25), Mayor Datuk Mansor Sudin said that the employee is 54 and from Jasin.

Mansor added that the employee had admitted to attending the tabligh gathering and said that he was placed as a case from the cluster by the Health Ministry.

He also said that health officials are tracing those who have had close contact with the employee for screening purposes and added that the MBMB building complex at Ayer Keroh has also been fully sanitized.

"MBMB has carried-out sanitization twice based on the guidelines, with the assistance of the Health Ministry. Additionally, all departments have stopped work during the movement control order (MCO) period, except the control room for MBMB Covid-19 enforcement," said Mansor.

On the MCO, Mansor said that most businesses here are abiding to the operation times specified under the order.

"My enforcement officers are keeping watch at shopping malls and commercial centres," he added.
