KLANG: A drunken brawl led to the death of a man whose body was found at an apartment stairwell here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said police received a call around 7.50am on Sunday (March 22), informing them that a man was found lying in a pool of blood at Apartment Tropika here.

"We found the victim face down, dressed only in a pair of blue shorts. We also found injuries to his face and body," he said.

ACP Shamsul said post-mortem results on the victim, a 36-year-old unemployed man, found he had died of severe head injuries due to blunt force trauma.

He also said the victim had been arrested in the past for drug offences and robbery.

Later the same day, police arrested a 27-year-old man in Setapak in connection with the crime at around 1.10pm.

ACP Shamsul said the suspect confessed to causing the victim's death, saying a misunderstanding occurred when the two were drinking at the victim's house.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
