PRICES of chicken and eggs have nosedived in Tamil Nadu amid the Covid-19 outbreak, prompting a poultry farmers’ association to offer a 10 million rupee award (RM589,000) to anyone who can prove that the virus can be spread through eggs or chicken meat.

Malaysia Nanban reported that the price of eggs had dropped from 4.5 rupees (30 sen) per egg to 1.25 rupee (less than one sen) in some places in the south Indian state.
