THREE men and six women, aged between 22 and 48, were charged in the Magistrate’s Court in George Town, Penang, with trafficking three local women for sexual exploitation, reported Harian
Metro. The accused and another still at large were charged with trafficking the women, aged 24 to 37, at a home in Jalan Southbay, Residence@Southbay, Batu Muang between June 2017 and January this year.
Deputy public prosecutor Farah Aimy Zainal Anwar requested the court to deny the accused bail as they were part of a syndicate involved in prostitution, and could harass the victims.
The court denied bail and fixed May 18 for case management.

The incident happened at about 10.20am after Mohd Shobri Rani left the sundry shop and was walking to his car when he fell unconscious.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene but Mohd Shobri was said to have died.
Hulu Terengganu OCPD Supt Mohd Adli Mat Daud confirmed the incident and said the police had ruled out foul play.
