Dear elderly: Penang girl explains MCO directive in light-hearted Hokkien video

GEORGE TOWN: A Penang girl had taken a light-hearted approach to explain the stay-at-home directive from the movement control order (MCO) in Penang Hokkien.

In her five-minute video, Youtuber Jing Jing Beh appealed to senior citizens to not venture outdoors.

She said some senior citizens still did not seem to understand the directive, and were hanging out and eating at hawker places despite being told they could only order takeaways.

“We are so mad about it.

“As Malaysia is a multiracial country, most news is in English, Malay or Mandarin. Maybe they don't understand what the news because the only know Hokkien.

“We need to make sure they understand, lockdown means STAY AT HOME.”

She shared the video on her Youtube channel on Friday (March 20) which can be viewed here (WARNING: Contains expletives).
