GEORGE TOWN: The Fisheries Department has seized 222 dragon fish traps (bubu naga) worth RM13,320 in an operation to curb the use of banned fishing appliance in the waters off Simpang Ampat.
State Fisheries director Noraisyah Abu Bakar said the traps were seized on Tuesday during a joint operation with the marine police.
