SEREMBAN: There will be no disruption in water supply in the city on March 24 as Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan (Sains) has decided to defer maintenance works at the Sg Terip water treatment facility.
Last week, consumers were told to brace for a 24-hour disruption to allow the state water concessionaire, as well as Tenaga Nasional, carry out maintenance works.
The areas that were supposed to have been affected by the move included the city centre, Rasah, Mambau, Rahang, Temiang, Paroi, Desa Rhu, Seremban 2, Seremban 3, Senawang, Sg Gadut, Ampangan and Jalan Tampin.
Sains in a statement said it had decided against carrying out works following the imposition of the movement control order by the government to check the spread of coronavirus.
The order will be in force until March 31.
The company said it would not carry out any other maintenance work which could result in water cuts during the period.
Its counters would also remained closed but the public can call 1800 88 6982 for queries.
Consumers are also encouraged to pay their bills online. However, its teams are on standby in case of emergencies or to repair broken pipes.
