BATU PAHAT: The Dewan Rakyat has yet to receive any motion for a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Speaker Datuk Rashid Hasnon says.

“We have yet to receive any motion on the matter, ” he said.

Rashid said it was more important to focus on the country’s administration to ensure the well-being of the people rather than continue with the motion.

“The appointment of Muhyiddin is in line with Article 43(2) of the Federal Constitution where he is appointed by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“But any motion that is brought forward to the Dewan Rakyat will be considered and examined before deciding whether it could be passed or otherwise, ” he said.

Asked whether he is now a member of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Rashid said he is still an independent candidate.
