MIRI: Catholic churches in Kuching and Miri dioceses have announced they will suspend public masses temporarily from March 20 to April 3.

The directive follows a spike in the number of Covid-19 infections in the state.

Bishop Richard Ng (pic) of Miri and Archbishop Simon Poh of Kuching issued the directive on Saturday (March 14).

They said the churches were also taking precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Any extension of the suspension would be decided after April 3, the two said.
