Sarawak plans amendment to Federal Constitution

KUCHING: Sarawak will pursue an amendment to Article 160(2) of the Federal Constitution to define “federation” in reference to MA63, instead of the Federation of Malaya Agreement 1957.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg (pic) said with the amendment, there would be no need to include the words “pursuant to the Malaysia Agreement 1963” in the proposed amendment to Article 1(2) to restore the status of Sabah and Sarawak as equal partners in Malaysia.
