SIBU: A group of more than 20 people from here who attended the religious event at Seri Petaling Mosque between February and March in Kuala Lumpur have tested negative for Covid-19.

They were among 500 Sarawakians who went for the event from Feb 27 to March 1, during which a participant from Brunei was confirmed infected with the coronavirus.

Sibu Division Health Officer Dr Teh Joh Hun said the 20 plus people had undergone medical checks at Sibu Hospital and government clinics here on Thursday (March 12).

Dr Teh said the 15-day quarantine was still compulsory for them as the incubation period was 14 days.

He also called on those who might be with the group to come forward for screening.
