Good town planning builds community

Gamuda Land’s twentyfive.7 boutique township is the first to introduce innovatively-designed, multi-façade homes in the country.

INTO its third month, the theme for Gamuda Land’s Through Your Lens photography contest in March is “design innovation”.

Here’s where shutterbugs can submit images of creatively designed features, or original and contemporary ideas that Gamuda Land has implemented within its developments, which benefit the community.

These are elements that distinguish and keep the property developer ahead of the curve, according to Gamuda Land chief executive officer Ngan Chee Meng.

“Our strategic approach in making good townships focuses on our development principles of mindful masterplanning, listening to what the land has to say, getting the places right and building a town that works for the community.

“To make it work, we need to be forward-thinking in our approach, applying technology to steer our efforts towards the creation of a more sustainable community,” he says, adding that oftentimes, when people buy a house, they are not just buying a place to stay but they are essentially selecting the community in which they and their family will grow up and grow old in.

“That is why it is important to be mindful in our approach to town-making, to carefully look into the details so that each development is sustainable and can stand the test of time, from landscaping to the community places as well as the living spaces,” Ngan says.

Value creation

Despite keeping to the same development principles, each of Gamuda Land’s townships has its own unique personality.

Those who have visited twentyfive.7 in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, will attest to the design innovation in this boutique township.

Not only is this township the first to introduce multi-façade homes in the country, the homes here are also innovatively designed to maximise living space usage for home owners.

Light House units at this neighbourhood allow 70% natural lighting and ventilation into its triple-volume living and dining spaces while the Flexi House is a dual-key landed home allowing flexible planning for resident with many generations under one roof or those looking for rental income.

Other home types include the Cubiq House which is inspired by the SoHo-style loft living with a bright and airy double volume living interior space; Gable House which has a clean layout with a sleek façade; and Ridge House with high ceilings and functional spaces in a stylish layout.
