KAJANG: Selangor police are ready to keep the peace, says Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin.
The state police chief said this when asked to comment on the readiness of the police in light of the country's current political situation.
“So far, the people of Selangor are calm and the situation remains peaceful. So we will let the democratic process go on. I would like to ask the public to support the police as they carry out their duties," said Comm Noor Azam.
He said this after launching a neighbourhood watch initiative at an industrial park in Bangi.
When asked to comment on the arrest of four Selangor-based policemen for alleged extortion involving RM3mil, he said that he welcomed the investigation.
“It’s a Kuala Lumpur case so they will handle it. On my side, we welcome strict action on those that have gone against their orders.
“Those that are found to be involved in crime and corruption, there will be no compromise. Take action on them. Suspension, charging in court, go ahead, ” he said.
