Pupil hurt by tent knocked down by wind

A GIRL suffered a head injury when a temporary tent at a primary school in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan, collapsed due to strong winds.

Makkal Osai reported that the school was hosting its annual sports day on Sunday morning when the wind suddenly picked up.

One of the large tents which had been set up for the event collapsed. Apparently, the pupil was struck by a metal support.

Seventeen teachers and students were injured, including a pregnant woman who was sent to the district hospital.

No other serious injuries were reported.



> A 59-year-old woman broke her leg when the front of her partially wooden house suddenly collapsed, Makkal Osai reported.

She was sweeping the floor when the incident happened.

District welfare officials have provided aid to her.
