IPOH: Many local and foreign investors have shown interest in taking over the currently closed Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (pic).

The Perak Mentri said some investors had personally met him over the matter, besides other investors having discussions with the state executive councillor concerned.

“I was informed that many more (investors) have met the bank representatives directly as well.

“There are many investors interested in taking over the business, ” he told reporters after delivering his speech at the State Agriculture Development Corporation (SADC) gathering at a hotel here Tuesday (Feb 11).

MAPS was opened to the public in June 2017 and has been closed since Jan 28 until further notice.

The closure notice was issued by the receiver and manager of Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd (ATP) from Ernst & Young.

Ahmad Faizal said one investor from China, and two local ones had met him recently.

“But I heard there are many more who have met with the bank, and discussions are already being held.

“So we will see what best can come out of the meetings, and the discussions held for the betterment of all, ” he added.
