Apply for childcare centre funds, agencies told

KUALA LUMPUR: Government agencies, particularly those with shift workers and which are in need of childcare centres, have been told by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to apply for funding made available through a RM30mil allocation in Budget 2020.Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Women, Family and Community Development Minister, said only 36 agencies had applied so far.

“We need to check on the agencies that have submitted applications; if they already have childcare centres, whether the application is for an upgrade and so on, ” she told a press conference after opening a childcare centre in the Parliament building here.
