PETALING JAYA: Batu MP P. Prabakaran (pic) has lodged a police report after witnessing a snatch theft while he was inspecting the condition of a road in his constituency.

He said the report was lodged at the Sentul police district headquarters, adding that the incident was being investigated.

He also said that the victim was not a member of his staff.

"I don't know him. He was a trader there, one of my constituents," Prabakaran said, adding that the incident happened at Batu 5.

Asked what was taken by the snatch thief, he said a chain.

The snatch theft was inadvertently caught on Prabakaran's Facebook live video on Tuesday (Feb 4).

In the video, he and his team, along with a few of his constituents, are seen inspecting a pothole in front of a row of shophouses.

As Prabakaran is speaking to the locals, a motorcyclist suddenly rides by and snatches an item from a man who is standing beside the road.
