KUALA LUMPUR: Police crippled an illegal poker operation after raiding a condominium in Bukit Jalil here.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the raid at around 11pm on Saturday led to the arrest of three local men, believed to be the organisers of the game, and two workers.
“We also arrested a Russian man and 10 locals who were suspected to be the players, ” he said in a statement.
He said police seized a money counter, one timer, betting sheets, two keys, 791 gambling chips, 17 mobile phones, two tablet devices, 104 cards and RM15,637 in cash.
“All those arrested were aged between 24 and 34 and will be remanded to help with investigations.
“We are investigating the case under Section 6 (1) of the Common Gaming Houses Act, ” he said.
