PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has climbed nine places from last year to be ranked 43rd in the Democracy Index, its highest position since the yearly index was first produced in 2006.
According to the index by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Malaysia scored 7.16 points out of 10, placing it in the "flawed democracy" segment.
